Ongoing Proactive Performance: A new category of wellness services

Welcome to Somavive!  I’m glad you stopped by to learn more about what we are doing.

As we launch our new wellness brand, I wanted to start by defining the category of ongoing proactive performance.  This will be the first of several blog posts on this topic as I feel like it is important to understand who we are and what types of services we provide.  I personally struggled accurately defining our BFR Guided Training Program when it launched, but as time has gone on this category became more clear and defined.  Let’s take it one word at a time:

Ongoing means a continual process.

It’s unrealistic to think that healthy habits can be formed and sustained in a few weeks, months, or even years.  Learning how to care for your body and form wellness habits is a skill that takes time to develop.  Our body has a tendency to take the path of least resistance and isn’t something that will automatically happen.  Having a trusted guide to adjust and make recommendations for one’s individual needs has shown to be an asset to our clients.

Proactive means acting in anticipation.

The goal with Somavive is to provide effective services and education to those who desire to be an active participant in their wellness.  Some clients may have received a devastating diagnosis and they are unwilling to sit back and accept “there is nothing you can do”. Others prefer not to be on medications and are sick of side effects and would like an alternative option to approach their quality of life.  Somavive creates an environment for habit building but does require engagement on the client’s behalf.

Performance means the process of carrying out a task.

This isn’t simply exercise or fitness.  There’s a process to being strategic about carrying out exercise and putting the body in a position to thrive.  There’s also a process in being strategic in creating an environment that allows the body to rest.  Lifestyle techniques can be practiced to improve wellbeing and they are rehearsed over and over again leading to exceptional performance and improved function.
